Brown Bag Lunches at WSU-Pullman
During each semester on the Pullman campus, there will be several brown bag discussions. All are free and open to any who wish to attend.

Tuesday, September 9, 12-1pm in CUE 518
Michael Allen, Lecturer, Department of Physics
"Adapting the Rubric to Astro-101 Lab Exercises"

Lab exercises were introduced to the freshman-level astronomy survey courses in 2002 - I was as surprised as the students!  After a semester of working with students, I felt that the exercises were not serving their purpose, so adapted the CT rubric to reflect the exercises, and adapted the exercises to better promote CT.  This autumn marks the second iteration of the revision process.  I'll discuss my (tentative) successes and failures in achieving my original education goals.
