Thinking Critically About Wildlife in a Community Context

Introduction to Wildlife Management is offered to students this fall as a course that delivers Natural Resource Science content via a pedagogy of Service Learning.  In collaboration with University Extension in three counties, students in NATRS280 will learn to address authentic challenges in managing wildlife habitat from the perspective of a natural resource scientist.  They will demonstrate competency by completing a project using their knowledge and skills at researching and presenting a cogent analysis of a current challenge confronting landowners in Washington.  Using the Critical Thinking Rubric, assignments are designed to elicit critical reflection of service learning projects related to the central course question.
