Building Effective Assignments for the 21st Century Classroom: Library Research, Information Literacy, and Critical Thinking Across the Curriculum
November 04 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM)

Scott Walter
Head, George B. Brain Education Library
Interim Head of Library Instruction
swalter@wsu.edu

Today's faculty and students are faced with a constantly changing array of information resources. This session will explore the relationship between critical thinking and information literacy, as well as "workshop" sample assignments.

Questions the session will explore:
How can information skillls be integrated into existing assignments? How might department faculty work with library faculty to highlight information literacy in their disciplines? What instructional support does the Library Instruction Program provide?

Take a look at Scott's work with the Critical Thinking rubric in Library Sciences: Examples, Samples, Questions and Answers and Effective Assignment Tips
