Pamela Wright, Instructor, Department of English
"Adaptation: Helping Students Understand and Apply the Critical Thinking Rubric"

This presentation will focus on the navigation techniques I created and applied to aid my students (and me) in comprehending and understanding the rubric.  After a semester of trial and error, I came up with an idea that worked-I developed a list of questions from the rubric that seemed to make it easier for my students to really understand what I was saying about employing critical thinking in their writing. They were then able to use these questions as a "checklist" as they were drafting. This improved both the quality of the work I received and the communication between my students and I.
